Otfried Nassauer (* 1956 in Siegen; † 1. oder 2. Oktober 2020 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Journalist und Friedensforscher, der „über vier Jahrzehnte die Diskussionen über die aktuelle deutsche und internationale Militär- und Sicherheitspolitik geprägt“ habe. Quelle: wikipedia

Bereits seit Jahren, das war unübersehbar, wurde sein Körper schwächer und schwächer. Nun wurde Otfried Nassauer vor einigen Tagen leblos in seiner Berliner Wohnung aufgefunden.

„Dr. Jazz“ (1930-2020)

Dem Dresdner Dixieland-Festivalpublikum wird er unvergessen bleiben – mit seinen Anekdoten, seiner Herzlichkeit und seiner Publikumsnähe: kurz vor seinem 90. Geburtstag ist der Mitbegründer und langjährige Moderator des Dixieland-Festivals, Karlheinz Drechsel, verstorben.

Karlheinz Drechsel war ein deutscher Musikjournalist und Jazzmusiker. Der als Dr. Jazz bekannte Drechsel moderierte von 1959 bis 1991 die Sendung Jazz Panorama und war einer der Gründungsväter des Dixielandfestivals in Dresden. Quelle: wikipedia

This is sad news. We met while Germany was still divided. He was always nice to me and interested enough in what I had to say that he actually listened. He lived through much harder times - under more than one repressive regime - but didn't talk much about all that, and he never lost his love for the music. I salute him as his programme goes off the air after its final edition.

The Yom Kippur Attack – One Year Later

World Jewish Congress September 29, 2020, event in Halle, Germany

To mark the one-year anniversary of the 2019 Yom Kippur attack on Halle, Germany, to mourn the deaths of the victims, and to push for concrete action to fight antisemitism, the World Jewish Congress brought together Jewish community and government leaders in Halle for a small, socially distanced event at the synagogue in Halle on the day after Yom Kippur this year, September 29, 2020.
